Education – Scholarship Programmes

The Anglo-Jewish Association is a leading Jewish community organisation which provides financial assistance to Jewish students to attend University and Higher Education throughout the country.

In 2015, the AJA has launched a series of partnerships with other charities in order to service the student community more efficiently. The first two programmes are –

AJA UJS Student Welfare Fund – British students studying in the UK

In partnership with UJS, The Anglo-Jewish Association offers means-tested grants to assist Jewish students (who are British Citizens) with the costs of further education.

The AJA UJS Student Welfare fund aims to assist those students who, often through no fault of their own, have met with financial difficulties and require extra support whilst studying. The Fund is operated in complete discretion with formalities being kept to a minimum. Applicants, however, are required to complete a form in which the financial statement section is an integral part. Only students studying at recognised tertiary educational establishments in the UK can be considered.

AJA Karten Scholarship Programme – Israeli post-grads studying in the UK

In partnership with the B’nai B’rith Leo Baeck (London) Lodge , The Anglo-Jewish Association and the Ian Karten Charitable Trust offers grants to assist Israeli students studying at post-graduate level (Masters or PhDs) in the UK. Applicants of all religions and for all subjects are welcome.
